About
Welcome to my insignificant, seldom-read weblog. I moved my blog posts from Yahoo! 360° over to WordPress on 19 December 2007. This explains, in part, why all previously dated posts have no comments so far.
I don’t consider myself to be important. I don’t consider this blog to be important. It’s simply a place to post ideas, thoughts, pictures, or whatever I choose. Maybe many will read it – maybe none. It will be used the same in either case.
I am a 31-year-old male in North Carolina. I am a skeptic, scientific naturalist, and moderate metalhead. Here are my recent (10 Dec 2007) Political Compass results. You may also review my profile on MySpace for a little more info about me. I’m not big on talking about myself, so I’m not sure what to say.
- I support gay rights
- I oppose capital punishment
- I am “pro-choice” and “pro-life”
- I support separation of church and state
- I accept evolutionary theory
- I oppose the political “two-party system”
- I am a registered, unaffiliated voter
- I oppose religious faith
- I support free inquiry
- I am sincerely atheistic
I consider myself an agnostic atheist. I realize the meaning of these terms is a matter of debate. What is more important to me than whether a certain label fits is that my position is understood. I don’t know if “god” exists, and I don’t believe it does. If, to you, atheists deny “god,” or hate “god,” then as far as you are concerned, I am not one of them. I am willing to allow semantic latitude because comprehension is more important than dictionary adherence. Words should be our servants, not out masters.
